About Me

I’m Pamela Corkey, a clinical mental health counselor who works with adults and couples navigating the impact of developmental trauma (CPTSD), acute trauma (PTSD), and attachment issues, as well as depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. My focus is on supporting those facing the weight of a difficult past, the strain of complicated relationships, and the challenge of building trust - with oneself and others.

My approach is collaborative and adaptable, rooted in Person-Centered Therapy and drawing from the Three Pillars and Internal Family Systems attachment healing modalities. I also utilize Existential, CBT, Gestalt, and somatic techniques. I keep my toolkit both deep and wide so we can use what serves you best.

My methods are enriched by a long career as a screenwriter, film professor, and story consultant. For over three decades, I’ve served as a mentor and creative leader, helping people clarify their goals, navigate challenges, and bring their work and themselves into fuller expression. Both my counseling practice and my creative work are driven by a deep interest in how we evolve and make sense of our lives.

I am currently in my final year of clinical training, growing Encircle Counseling under the guidance of a licensed supervisor. At this time, therapy is available exclusively via telehealth to Vermont residents. I accept Green Mountain Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield, MVP, Cigna, or private pay. Coaching is available without geographic limits—online anywhere, or in person in the southern Vermont area—and is billed out-of-pocket.

To get started, schedule a free 30-minute consultation so we can get to know each other, explore your needs, and see if working together feels like the right fit.
